The British Council is United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational and cultural relations. It provides individuals and institutions with access to contemporary British ideas and expertise. In India, the council operates as a division of the British High Commission. India is the the largest British Council operation in the world, with four major offices in New Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai and eight Biritish libraries thorughout the country.

We have prospectuses of over 250 universities and colleges in Britain for reference 
Take advantage of the latest technology: Go on a virtual campus tour or get specific information with a click of a button, all through our CD-ROM facility. Check out the campuses or accommodation facility at a British institution: We house over 100 videos of British universities or colleges.

We have more than 100 reference books on post-graduate, under-graduate, professional courses and scholarships. Some of these books are also on sale: 
Study in Britain-Scholarship Guide (Rs 100 or Rs 150 by post) This book lists all the scholarships offered by the British Council and various British institutions. This book has been especially written for international students. A must for students contemplating admission in the UK. 

The council organises visits from representatives of UK institutions from time to time. A wonderful opportunity to hear from the horse's mouth. 

Trained counsellors to help you at every step. Every thing you wanted to know about British education: We organise regular group briefings where we give you information about studying in the UK as well as answer all the questions you might have. If you are a self-funded or sponsored student, the British Council has a special facility for you.

Application processing for you free of cost. That means you fill our own British Council form, which is accepted by more than 250 British Institutions. You can apply to a maximum of six universities or colleges or courses at the under-graduate level and three at the post-graduate level.
 
Visa-facilitation services: A special visa facilitation service is available for students who apply through the council. 
The council organises a pre-departure briefing every year to help adjust better to life as a student in Britain. You can meet and learn from the experiences of alumni of various UK institutions, dos and don’ts, travel tips, immigration rules and much more. 

British Education Fairs twice a year, in November and February, where you can meet representatives of more than 40 British institutions.
