Mission Statement

The aim of the school is to make its pupils cultured and useful members of society. They should, when they enter the world, be able to take an active interest in the betterment of their homes and community and when they grow up take place in life, having the advantage of a sound education, which will enable them to fit themselves usefully into the world of tomorrow.

Background :
The history of Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Jaipur begins from August 12, 1943. Her Highness Maharani Gayatri Deviji felt the need for a school specially for the girls where they could get all round education and at the same time maintain Indian culture. M.G.D. has come to occupy a place in the front rank of the public schools in the country- the first Girls' Public School to be accepted as member of I.P.S.C. in 1950. It has acquired international repute by attracting students from overseas as well. One of the finest features is that it is open to the girls of all classes without distinction of race, class or social status. The institution has developed all round, steadily, widening its educational base and values. Intellectual, physical, social and emotional aspects of the students are well taken care of in order to develop their all round personality.

Campus
:
The 26 acres campus contains beautiful large buildings, gardens, lawns, sports fields and swimming pool. There are six Houses in each of which is a special age group. The Prep and Anand House for the Tiny Tots. The Lilian Hurst and the Ashyana House for the upper Juniors, the Gitanjali, the Deepshikha and the Indira Bhawan Houses for the Seniors. Each House has its own House Mistress, Matron and Maid servants.

Atmosphere
:
Stress is laid on conduct, application, attendance, punctuality and neatness. Training in good manners and civic sense, dress and personal cleanliness is given chiefly through the House system.

Sports & Extra Curricular Activities
:
Hockey, basket ball, Net Ball, Throw Ball, Badminton, Volley Ball, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Base Ball and Rounders are among the games played at the school. It is compulsory for every student (unless otherwise advised by the Doctor) to take daily exercise and learn to play various organized Sports and Games. The school has a Swimming pool and a 400 m track, a stadium Building, an Indoor badminton Court and a Cricket Ground. The School band is active throughout the year.
The School plays a very important role in training the students in the following subjects: Literary Debating Society (Hindi & English) for Preps., Juniors and Seniors, Girl Guides & Bulbuls, Red Cross, Dramatics, Camera Club/ Photography, Gardening, Paper Mach, Doll making/ Toy Making, Clay Modelling, Puppetry, Book Binding, Batik/ Art, Leather work, Weaving, Tie & Dye, Computers, Electronics, Indian Classical Music, Western Music, Dress making and Tailoring.
